Actor Shakti Kapoor says TV channel framed him - New Delhi: Television producer S u h a i b Ilyasi told mediapersons in New Delhi on Saturday that film actor S h a k t i Kapoor had been caught on camera asking for sexual favours from a woman who aspired to become a movie star.
Ilyasi said that the girl in the film, which was screened for mediapersons in Delhi, was a journalist working for the India-TV channel which had shot the programme.
When contacted in Mumbai, Kapoor admitted that he had met the woman in a hotel room a few months ago. “She had been been calling me up for over six months professing her love for me. It was she who had asked me to meet her in the hotel room,’’ he said.
However, he denied that he had made any sexual overtures. “The tapes have been doctored. They are trying to frame and blackmail me. I will sue them heavily for attempting to end my career with these lies,’’ Kapoor said. PTI
